Blue Eyes

I came across this gorgeous Blue-eyed Darner at the Broken Bow Sewage Lagoons on Sunday evening.  Unlike most of the Aeshna I've come across, it actually held still for a few minutes and let me approach.

 

It must have been feeling lousy, because it let me catch it with my bare hands.

Those eyes are just incredible!
